Finding Faith in the Fog…

I had just left an encouraging Christian conference full of hope, full of direction, and the courage to get things done. The upbeat praise and worship music streamed from the car speakers into my heart, and I loudly sang along in a carefree manner. Suddenly, though, my singing stopped and my fingers white-knuckled the steering wheel. As I rounded a corner and turned directly into a dense fog, reality snapped me to attention! What are the Three Legacies of Alcoholics Anonymous and what do they represent?

The Three Legacies of Alcoholics Anonymous are RECOVERY, UNITY, and SERVICE. These legacies have been passed down to us from the founders, co-founders, and old-timers of AA.

1) Recovery is contained in the Big Book and Twelve Steps.
2) Unity is contained in the Twelve Traditions.
3) Service is contained in every act which helps AA function or which carries the AA message to those who need it.
